Security Officer

Position Title: Security Officer

Location: Flexible based on location with opportunities within regional Victoria.
Employment Type: Part-Time/Casual/Full-Time
Salary Range: Based on qualifications/experience (pro rata, plus superannuation)
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a visible security presence to deter crime and antisocial behaviour.
- Monitor premises and conduct regular patrols (static, foot, or vehicle).
- Observe and report incidents using CCTV, radios, and written documentation.
- Control entry and exit points, including ID checks and access management.
- Provide professional customer service and assistance to clients and the public.
- Respond to alarms, disturbances, and emergencies such as fire, theft, or medical incidents.
- De-escalate conflicts and manage difficult or aggressive behaviour safely.
- Prepare accurate incident reports and shift logs in line with company standards.
- Comply with all licensing laws, company procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with emergency response and evacuation procedures.
- Protect property, assets, and information from theft, damage, or misuse.
- Operate communication equipment effectively to coordinate with team members.
- Maintain confidentiality and safeguard sensitive client and company information.
Skills & Experience Required
- Current Victorian Security Licence (Security Officer – Unarmed Guard and/or Crowd Controller, as required)
- Current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011 Provide First Aid or equivalent)
- Strong observation and situational awareness skills
- Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergencies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Professional presentation and customer service skills
- Ability to de-escalate conflicts and manage challenging behaviours
- Physically fit and able to conduct patrols or stand for extended periods
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Basic computer literacy for incident reporting and security systems
- Availability to work across various shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety, and compliance with the Private Security Act 2004
