Standby Security Pty Ltd is seeking skilled Alarm & CCTV Installers to join our team in Geelong. In this hands-on role, you’ll design, install, and maintain advanced security systems that help safeguard homes, businesses, and community spaces. Your technical expertise will provide clients with peace of mind, while supporting our mission to build safer environments for everyone.

About the Role

Position Title: Alarm & CCTV Installer

Employer: Standby Security Pty Ltd

Location: Based in Geelong but required to travel to regional areas

Employment Type: Full-Time

Salary Range: Based on qualifications, skills & experience (pro rata, plus superannuation)

Work Vehicle: Included

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain alarm systems, CCTV cameras, access control, and related security equipment
  • Conduct site assessments to determine system requirements and recommend appropriate security solutions
  • Perform cabling, wiring, and equipment setup in compliance with Australian standards and safety regulations
  • Troubleshoot and repair faulty systems, ensuring minimal downtime for clients
  • Complete system testing and commissioning to ensure proper functionality
  • Provide training and guidance to clients on the correct use of installed systems
  • Maintain accurate installation records, service reports, and compliance documentation
  • Work collaboratively with team members, contractors, and clients to deliver projects on time
  • Conduct regular maintenance checks and upgrade systems as required
  • Adhere to all workplace health and safety requirements while on-site
  • Ensure confidentiality and security of client information and property

Skills & Experience Required

  • Current Victorian Security Equipment Installer Licence (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Proven experience installing and servicing alarm systems, CCTV, and access control systems
  • Solid knowledge of electrical and cabling standards (ACMA registration desirable)
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and manuals
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Good communication and customer service skills when dealing with clients on-site
  • Physically fit and able to work at heights, in confined spaces, or across varied environments
  • Current Driver’s Licence and reliable transport
  • White Card (Construction Induction) preferred
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Strong commitment to workplace health and safety practices
